Maybe this doesn't belong on a website about wildlife, but the focus on wildlife is really part of a bigger belief in stewardship. It's about taking care of the world around you, making things better. Whether that means recycling, donating blood, conserving resources like water...it's all under the same umbrella and it all helps.
It's in this spirit of stewardship that my wife and I try to help lost dogs we come across until we can reunite them with their owners. This way we know the dog won't be hit by a car, make more puppies, starve, etc.... We've been very fortunate that there have only been two dogs whose home we haven't been able to find, and we kept them both. One is Pace, who is featured in the story "The Stranger In The Pool" on this site. The other is Copper, who hasn't appeared on this site. I guess that's not fair, so:
We're trying to find a home for this dog we recently found. Click on the photo for more information about her. If you're interested in adopting her, we're in the Memphis, TN area.
Well, we haven't had any luck finding the owner of the dog featured at the top of the page, and we're not optimistic. Unfortunately there's no way we can keep her, because that would be four dogs (we also have Chance, who has appeared in a couple of videos on this site) in our small house. And we don't want to turn into one of those crazy couples on the news whose house gets raided because there are 100 dogs living there with poop all over the place.... Three dogs is enough. We'll stick with that. So if you, or anyone you know, is looking to adopt a dog in need, we have a sweet one for you.
