The Dark-Eyed Juncos are back for the winter. Sometimes they eat from the seedheads of plants, but usually they forage on the ground. In our flowerbeds that are covered with mulch, they kick the mulch back and look for seeds or insects. Sometimes this two-legged kick is so fast you can barely see it, so I've slowed the video down a lot in some sections. I shot this through our kitchen window.
