THE FIRST 48: FROG EGGS TIME LAPSE
I'm 95% sure these are the eggs of the Eastern Narrow-Mouthed Toad (which isn't really a toad). These eggs were deposited overnight in my backyard pond, and I scooped some of them up in the morning. Some of them floated on the surface of the container, and some - like the ones in this video - stuck to the bottom, which made the time lapse smoother. They're each in their own gelatinous sphere. What you see here is the first 48 hours of their development. I didn't expect it to be so fast. Most of the information I've seen says it takes these frogs 1 to 2 months to complete metamorphosis, but it sure looks like these guys could get there sooner. After 48 hours I released them back into the pond.
