CATERPILLAR GROWING SPIKES TIME LAPSE

This Gulf Fritillary caterpillar had just finished shedding its skin, or molting. During the molt, its dark black spikes are shed along with the skin. What happens next takes less than one hour. New spikes, this time yellowish-green, appear to be forced out of its body in several bursts. Then they rapidly change to their typical black color. As usual with my newer videos, change the resolution on the toolbar from 360p to 1080p if your computer can handle it. There really is a big difference in the quality, but you might have to give it some extra time to download so it can play without stopping.
